Lovely La Gomera
The Island
La Gomera, located in the Canary Islands just off Tenerife is still unspoilt and a walkers' paradise. The island is 25 X 25 miles but the variety of walks, its charming rural villages and spectacular tropical forest make it a must do walkers' location.
The sun drenched south has hidden valleys with delightful palm groves whilst the more rugged north has narrow barrancos or narrow ravines, and green hillsides capped in woodland. The scientifically famed natural park with its amazing cloud forest also affords great walking with much flora and fauna unique to this area.
The Walking
Walking is varied with opportunities to explore the deep ravines, follow mountain ridge paths, visit remote waterfalls and walk round volcanic domes. There are also several excellent coast walking paths. The experience of walking in the world of lush forests within the national park is one you will never forget.
We use local guides whose knowledge of the walking and the culture of La Gomera is extensive.
The Hotel
We use Hotel Gran Rey in Gran Rey, a three star hotel reputed to be the best on the Island, half board with excellent evening dining. Gran Rey is a coastal village with golden beaches and even a few shops.
Flights
We include the cost of flights in the price quoted in our leaflets and on our website. Our flight price costings are based upon typical air seat price from London Gatwick. You may wish to fly from the airport nearest to you, and when you book a holiday with us, we research all the available flights, including Charter and “No Frills” airlines. We will give you an individual quotation. Dependent on the time of year, specific dates, and air seat prices relevant at the time of booking, then there may be flight supplements. Our partners in Secret Hills Walking Holidays in Europe, New Experience Holidays will provide the individual quotation. They provide us with ATOL bonding.
Meeting you in La Gomera
We will meet you at the Gran Rey ferry port for onward transfer to Hotel Gran Rey. Your onward transfer from Tenerife Airport to the the ferry terminal is included in the price, as is the ferry cost.
Single Supplement
Unfortunately, for sole use of a twin room, there is a supplement of £10 per night.
