Secret Hills Walking Holidays
Historical Ironbridge
Walking in the footsteps of the Industrial Revolution - deep in the valley of the River Severn, these walking breaks combine excellent walking with getting to know how our ancestors created our modern world.
Walking is moderate grade - with a few short steep climbs and descents as we ascend and descend the wooded Severn valley. We stay at the Best Western Valley Hotel, close by the Ironbridge itself. The comfortable rooms and excellent food combined with the excellence of our walking routes, make a fabulous break.

We run both Social Walking for Singles and Strolling and Exploring holidays at this destination. The Strolling option enables us to really explore the heritage available in the gorge, with its many museums and reminders of the success of our forbebears.
We visit Much Wenlock on one of our walks, site of the start of the modern Olympiad, as well as a visit to the famous Wrekin - a lofty peak straight out of the Severn Valley. Benthall Woods, with its many quarries and clay workings is a delight, and lovely Coalbrookdale, now released form its ugly historical grim, will enchant you.
