Secret Hills Guided Walking Holidays
Guided Walking Holidays for Groups
Yes, let us take the strain. Secret Hills Walking Holidays specialise in arranging guided group walking holidays — working with you to give you the best holiday at the most effective cost.
Our philosophy is simple — we are in business to arrange walking holidays, we are expert in arranging hotels, meals, transport — and especially walk leading in the areas we promote. The additional cost to you of our providing that service is minimal, when you work it out over the group.
Two methods are available when we discuss organising a group holiday for you:
1. Secret Hills Walking Holidays arrange everything - including flights if it's a European holiday. You tell us what you need, and we will put a fully costed proposal to you.
2. You just want assistance with guiding and possibly transport - again tell us what you need and we will cost out the options.
Just tell us what you want, where you want to walk, and we will propose a package to you, using the buying power we have, to give you a cost effective, but superb holiday.
In adition to walking, Secret Hills have a range of evening activities that can be purchased, such as quizzes, musical evenings, talks by local history experts etc.
Secret Hills Walking Holidays have listed a number of walking groups we have arranged holidays for during the past five years, they will happily testify to how we have provided a complete service to them. Just ask for their contacts.

On behalf of the group, I would like to thank you and the walking leading team for a wonderful weekend. Superb walking, dramatic scenery and mostly great weather.
All the arrangements ran smoothly, and everyone appreciated the local knowledge and consideration shown by the leaders.Everyone liked the hotel, the quiz was great fun, and the lunch on Monday at the Green Dragon was excellent.
The weekend would have been more difficult to assemble without your help.
We will definately think about Secret Hills for future events.

Dear Alan
Thank you very much for arranging another weekend for our group. Everyone had a wonderful time and was very impressed with the whole package( including the sunshine). The walk leaders wre really good and were praised by one and all - can you pass our appreciation and thanks to all of them. It has been suggested we use Secret Hills again (after me trying to get it passed by the committee for years.) Many members took your brochure so hopefully you will get a lot of follow up business.
Sue Spires - Pang Valley Ramblers
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Thank you for making our weekend so successful. Everyone was delighted with all the walks and the adaptability of the different grades of senior citizens with which you and your excellent leaders has to cope with in our club! There were so many comments about the re- arrangement of the Sunday walks and several said that they very much enjoyed the Acton Scott Victorian Working Farm and would not have visited it if it had not rained.. Thank you for rushing round to the fam and making us so welcome with comfortable chairs on which to sit for lunch.
The entertainment in the evening was great and Chris's lunches went down very well - thank you Chris.
The hotel itself was excellent.
Davina MaCrae Stoke Lodge Ramblers
Dear Alan and Team,
We are writing to thank you most sincerely for our lovely group holiday last week.
We had been looking forward to this for some time and our expectations were surely exceeded.
The walks were superb, just right for our differing capabilities. Those who didnt do quite so much walking these days were particularly grateful for the level of care and attention you gave them. And the fun"never ending tale" about 'hazel of Undern Hall" , us long walkers thoroughly enjoyed. This along with Trevor getting Graham and Pete to do "a turn" on your cairn, all went down a treat. Not to mention the tallk you provided during our stay and the grand musical event on our final evening.
All made for a jolly time for us all(when the weather could have been just that little bit drier)
Of course we must not forget our delicious sandwiches provided by Chris' s A corn Whole food Cafe. Just what we needed for our picnics.
It goes without hesitation that we thorougjly reccommend your company to others, and we have started already reading your brochure for the future!
YOU ARE TO BE CONGRATULATED ON ALL COUNTS
Jenny Cooper - Gloucestershire Womens Institute
A brilliant weekend - had lots of very favourable comments. A really beautiful part of the country. Guides were all excellent and although we don't normally we had a little collection for them so if I send a cheque to you, please would you be kind enough to distribute it? They really were very caring and looked after us so well.
Thank you very much for all the arrangements
Pat Kidds - Exeter Ramblers
Thank you for the fabulous weekend that you gave us in Church Stretton. On behalf of all of us, will you please thank Paul and Lesley and Trevor and Barbara for making our walks so enjoyable. From a purely personal point of view, they managed to pace the walks perfectly for me, pausing to admire the scenery or point out local points of interest, just when I thought that I was breathing my last!
We would love to join you again and we have looked at your brochures. What about Crickhowell and the Black Mountains?
Beverley Moynihan - St Leonards Ramblers
"Perfect weather—and that was not easy to arrange in 2008—and lovely walking, combined with excellent hotel accommodation made Severn Vale Probus members very happy. The weather was a bonus—but thank you for a great five days. Once again your organisation was superb. Paul, Lesley, Ian, and yourself could not have been better walking hosts - so says Graham Gamblin, Walking organiser for the group. Shropshire was a delight - those hills get a little harder as we are one year older, but the routes you used were excellent.
Rossendale Ramblers members Gretchen Pyves and Ian Tattersall went on Secret Hills walking’s trip to Madeira in May 2007, and were so impressed by this beautiful walking island that they organised a trip for 12 of their club in November. Alan Garner—Secret Hills Walking principal is delighted that they have opted for a group holiday.
"We can arrange a specifically tailored walking holiday, with our Madeiran leader Bruno Fontes taking us on footpaths that are more off the beaten track. This combines the best of those volcanic mountains, and our favourite levada walking." Gretchen and Ian also know the restaurants we eat in, so they have chosen their favourites for the group.
Pauline Bagnall, from Coventry, organised a walking break for a number of friends, staying at The Mynd House Hotel, Church Stretton during midweek in October. "We want to walk about 6 miles each day, and have a jolly good chinwag along the way. Then a good evening meal, followed by an early night, maybe a glass of wine, or two, says Pauline, who has arranged walking breaks for many years."
Irene Graham, who organises group holidays for Henri's walking group in North Wales was delighted with the holiday Secret Hills Walking provided in The Derbyshire Dales "We had been to Shropshire and Madeira with Secret Hills before, but this one topped those holidays - and we thought they were brilliant"
South Dorset Ramblers had their annual UK holiday in Shropshire this year. 24 walkers stayed at the Longmynd Hotel, for seven nights, and walked around Shropshire on Secret Hills Walkings Shropshire Wanderer route. Elma Wyatt wrote glowingly about the week. "Thank you for a lovely holiday with South Dorset Ramblers. We had for a long time an ambition to explore the Shropshire hills and they certainly lived up to my expectations. I could not fault the programme or the accommodation (The Longmynd Hotel) and your leadership was first class. I shall recommend Secret Hills Walking to my friends." The walking took in many of the beauty spots of South Shropshire, the Stretton Hills, The Long Mynd, Stiperstones, Offa’s Dyke, Bishops Castle, Clun and Ludlow.
Ricky Mak, from London wanted to get all his family together on an activity break - so he chose Secret Hills Walking to organise it "We had family members from 15 to 65 so organising something that fitted all requirements was not easy - but Secret Hills did just that and everyone was so happy to be together and in the wonderful Shropshire air."
Bath Ramblers have had three group holidays with Secret Hills and organiser Eileen Davey was fullsome in her praise for how the company have organised each holiday - "Everything went smoothly, great leading, and the choice of hotel was indeed a bonus - now to next year."
Marple Ramblers. who organised their holiday in Madeira with Secret Hills guiding support. Organiser Mike Bryant "Thanks for a great holiday - Bruno's guiding - supported by Rui and Ruben was excellent, and the general organisation of the walks and transport went well"
