Guided Walking Holidays for Groups
Yes, let us take the strain. Secret Hills Walking Holidays specialise in arranging guided group walking holidays — working with you to give you the best holiday at the most effective cost.
Our philosophy is simple — we are in business to arrange walking holidays, we are expert in arranging hotels, meals, transport — and especially walk leading in the areas we promote. The additional cost to you of our providing that service is minimal, when you work it out over the group.
Two methods are available when we discuss organising a group holiday for you:
1. Secret Hills Walking Holidays arrange everything - including flights if it's a European holiday. You tell us what you need, and we will put a fully costed proposal to you.
2.You just want assistance with guiding and possibly transport - again tell us what you need and we will cost out the options.
Just tell us what you want, where you want to walk, and we will propose a package to you, using the buying power we have, to give you a cost effective, but superb holiday.
In addition to walking, Secret Hills have a range of evening activities that can be purchased, such as quizzes, musical evenings, talks by local history experts etc.
Secret Hills Walking Holidays have listed a number of walking groups we have arranged holidays for during the past five years, they will happily testify to how we have provided a complete service to them. Just ask for their contacts.

David Bailey - Group Walking Week organiser, East Berkshire Ramblers
Alan, Chris, Julie,
I have waited nearly a week since our Group returned from our Wye Valley holiday just to see how many more acknowledgements I get from members who were on it, saying what a great holiday they thought it was! I can honestly say that everyone was very happy with what you came up with for us and they are all now anxiously waiting to hear what we decide to do next year with Secret Hills.
Personally, I was so impressed with the help and encouragement I had had in the planning of the holiday during the ten months leading up to it, that I was in no doubt at all that everything would be fine when 14th September arrived. As indeed it was! Some of our members of course, having had years (and years!) of experience with HF and Ramblers Holidays - and many of whom had never even heard of Secret Hills - were perhaps understandably a little apprehensive of something new. But their worries proved to be totally misplaced. Well done to all of you, and especially to your local leaders and other helpers who were excellent.
Alma Richardson - East Berkshire Ramblers, September 2014
As one of the members of East Berkshire Ramblers group on the holiday last week. I wanted to write to say what a great set of walks you arranged for us. The group of leaders were excellent. I always joined the medium walks and was impressed with all those who led the walks. The hotel was very good too.
Liz Daykin - Kempley Walkers - Derbyshire Dales, September 2014
Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved in making our walking holiday so enjoyable last week. Everyone had a thoroughly good time.
Richard Killen - Private Walking Group - Ireland - Visit to Majorca May 2014
Good morning Alan,
Thank you for your kind words. I think we all really enjoyed the visit to Majorca. The walking was wonderful, the accommodation great and the food really not that bad!
It was a good learning experience for me and I can say without exception that all of us enjoyed your company and that of Eileen's as well. We just had great fun. Thank you!
Jenny Cooper - Gloucestershire Federation of Womens Institutes - Exmoor Weekend, May 2014
Thank you very much for all you did for us over the weekend. It truly was one of the best, even I managed to enjoy it! Lovely area, superb hotel, wonderful scenery and even the weather obliged - what more could one ask for? Definitely one to remember.
Epping Forest HF walking group holiday - Malverns, April 2014
To Mike, Alan, Chris, David,Jim, Julie and Secret Hills staff. With thanks for another brilliant Secret Hills Holiday. We all enjoyed Malvern and the location. Accommodation at the Abbey Hotel and the walking has been superb.
Adam Pearce - Solihull Ramblers weekend Llandrindod Wells, April 2014
Alan, Julie and Paul,
That was a really great weekend, and proof that good weather is not necessary to enjoy walking.
This photo is just at the end in the Lakeside Cafe; more to come, but not tonight. I have so many things either drying or soaking it will be a while. Another one from the start on Friday.
Shropshire Hills, January 2014
We would like to thank you and your team for making our walk so enjoyable. The guides were very informative about the Shropshire Hills, and we all had a wonderful time. I will send a message around to the team members at Seven Stones and ask them all to 'Like' your Facebook page.
Thanks very much and all the best for 2014 Kind Regards,
David Kingsbury- January 2014
October 2013 Just to say thank-you for the most enjoyable time in Derbyshire - inspite of the weather! As a geriatric walker the consideration and care shown by Alan Garner - and the team - was much appreciated.
Martin Rowe - Stoke Lodge Ramblers
October 2013 Thank you for a superb weekend of walking. Despite the rain on Saturday everyone enjoyed themselves and commented on the standard and consideration of your leaders on all the walks - we always welcomed back Paul and Leslie who we see from year to year. One of our 80 year olds said that the highlight of the weekend was the climbing of Thorpe Cloud at the end of the walk on Sunday with Paul Watts. In fact Paul has already communicated with Neville sending him maps of the routes of the 'A' walks on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and this has been is put on the SLR website.
Davina Macrae- Stoke Lodge Ramblers Shropshire Hills, September 2013
At least the worst rain waited until the last day! Otherwise we didn't really get seriously wet - and lots of sunshine in between allowing us to admire the beautiful Shropshire views. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and our walk leaders did an excellent job suiting all levels of walker (I was a bit surprised that we split into two groups right at the start and everyone stayed with the same group for the whole holiday - but everyone seemed happy with this).
Ann Bagot - Surrey Heath Ramblers - Llandrindod Wells, September 2013
Many thanks for an excellent holiday. Do I understand that you had wonderful w/end weather for the singles w/end ?
Actually, it wasn't too bad here but rather grey. Most enjoyable holiday, the walking was well supported by the swimming pool and spa facilities at the Metropole.
Thanks, again to all your leaders and backmarkers.
Margaret Ruse - Bristol Ramblers, St Leonards Walkers - Crickhowell
Many thanks for organising our weekend in Crickhowell for us. It was viewed by all as a most successful weekend and both the hotel and the walking were superb.
Thank you so much for all you did to make the weekend in the Derbyshire Dales success, we all had a great time and enjoyed the village, the hotel and the walks programme immensely. I certainly hope we will have the opportunity of walking with you and your colleagues again.
