Pyrenees Magic – a client’s comprehensive review.
Have you heard of the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park?
I certainly had not until choosing the aptly named “Pyrenees Magic” Secret Hills Walking holiday.
Nestling in the Spanish Pyrenees is this little-known area of spectacular, unspoilt scenery offering some fantastic walking.
Jill and Pete, the experienced guides for this holiday, ensure clients see the best of the Pyrenean landscape on the walks: from lofty, rocky mountain peaks to forested mountainsides laced with cascading waterfalls; from rivers tumbling into deep valleys to meadows rich in wildflowers and the chirping of marmots; from panoramic miradors to traditional villages hugging the hillsides.
There are frequent “Wow!” moments on each day’s walk for the expansive vistas and amazing sights. With their knowledge of the area, Jill and Pete can adapt the programme of well researched routes according to weather conditions and the ability or fitness of participants. They are passionate about sharing this amazing location and their desire is that everyone should have a great holiday and return home with a sense of accomplishment and many happy memories.
Added to this is the accommodation – a friendly and comfortable family-run hotel in an excellent location in Torla which serves a varied menu of simple, tasty traditional food. Furthermore, opportunities for refreshment at the end of each day’s walking are not overlooked.
Much of the appeal of this holiday is its more remote location, requiring a lengthy land transfer, but it really is worth it to experience the magic of the Pyrenees with like-minded walkers and expert leaders.
My recommendation? Book this holiday and go prepared for the Spanish Pyrenees to cast its spell on you.
