The Lake District is England’s only true mountain area. It has the most beautiful scenery in the land, with its bewitching mix of rugged mountains, deep gylls, shimmering lakes, bouncing waterfalls and attractive stone-built villages. Our solos guided walking holiday introduces you to this spectacular countryside.
This unique landscape, is one of National Geographic’s top ten ‘must-see’ destinations in the world, has a superb network of footpaths and tracks which stretch through the valleys and along the lakes, and traverse the sides, ridges and summits of the high fells, making it accessible to all.
The Northern Lakes – big mountains and glorious lakes- walking at it’s finest. Our solos guided walking holiday provides a contrast to the Southern Lakes holidays we run from Ambleside, the terrain is perhaps wilder, but the walking, on a magnificent network of paths is stunning.
Now – with our solos guided walking holidays – you can see all this beauty on our specially chosen guided walks, taken at a manageable pace, with our clients requirements always uppermost on our minds.
Secret Hills walking Holidays offer clients the opportunity to walk the Lakeland paths and fells and savour its beauty. We recognise that most people who opt for guided walking holidays, want to savour the fells, yet not be exhausted by slogging up several of them in a days walk. We have therefore selected walks that are IN the mountains, ascend the low fells, walk the stunning river valleys and take in the many tarns and lakes, in a cocktail of ever changing vista’s. We walk around 10 miles a day and take time – actually lots of it – to savour the beautiful Lakeland scenery – simply breathtaking.
We stay in hotels that are right in the heart of the lake district and close to where we walk.
Travel by rail – good connections from all parts of UK to Windermere or Penrith station with good bus connections form there.
Our leaders are based in the Lake District – and are experienced guides.
We also offer a separate guiding service to two or more people who may be staying in the area – we call this Individual independent guiding. We charge a per person fee per walk – (contact us for details) We can also offer advice and can book your accommodation – you pay the bill direct. Transport – use your own cars or hire taxis- the cost of this is additional to the above.
Let us tailor make your walking break – just email us and we will link you up to this service.
