I HAVE BEEN HOLIDAYING IN THE Western Algarve for 40 years- attracted by the remoteness of its coastal walking and its pretty shoreline settlements.
In 2010 , Secret Hills Walking ran its first Algarve holiday and we continued until the Pandemic hit.
Now – having found another hotel as our base, we are off again.
The beaches are simply stunning, the rocky coast constantly changing its form, sometimes sand coloured . sometimes as black as black can be.
So here it is – a fabulous land – lots of sun, and excellent walking.
We run a seven nights holiday in the sun of the Western Algarve – led by local guides and supported by a UK tour guide- showing off the best of this magnificent coast.
Lagos- a bustling town famed for its local Portuguese restaurants. is an ideal base to explore the coast and mountains of this sun kissed land.
Walking is moderate, some ascending and descending – it has both a coast and the Monchique mountains after all, and you should be walking fit. We walk for five days.
You buy your own flights, and also evening dinner at a different restaurant each night- so the choice of diet is yours.
