The Hotel was excellent.  Staff were very efficient and friendly

The hotel food was very good.  Good options for breakfast with excellent bread varieties and several coffee machines.  Dinner main courses were different every night and the I particularly enjoyed the fish options. 

Pete’s local knowledge ensured we did the best walk for the conditions on the day and were properly equipped.  His enthusiasm for the scenery, culture, history etc added to my enjoyment.    I have complete faith in Jill and Pete to ensure that we are capable of completing the walks and will do so safely.  

I enjoyed the whole experience very much.  I highly recommend the destination.

The hotel was very good – clean, comfortable, good food and obliging staff.

I very much enjoyed the guided walking experience . Pete and Jill were excellent leaders – very knowledgeable about the island and the Canaries as a whole. I felt safe with the walking leaders and the driver.

I have booked for Tenerife in 2026 and I would definitely recommend to other single travellers.

Very nice hotel, good location and facilities.  The food was good  The guided walking experience and the organisation was  as super as ever!! I was pleased to receive the Trip Dossier on 6th March, otherwise I would not have taken warm hat, gloves, scarf, thick fleece & heavy duty waterproof and would have packed for warmer climes!

A nice hotel, friendly staff. Quite a big hotel but it had a nice atmosphere. It was good for our group to have our own reserved table in the restaurant for the duration of our stay so we never had to wait for space to become available at dinner, and as we were by the window so people didn’t have to keep walking past us on the way to and from the buffet.

I’ve just returned from another amazing holiday with SHW in Gran Canaria lead by Jill & Pete.  The walking routes were scenic with beautiful views of the landscape and villages.  The hotel was of a high standard with the benefit of a Spa which some of us took advantage of even though there was an additional charge.    Thank you Jill & Pete for another wonderful holiday. xxx

Yet another well researched and lead walking week, by Jill and Pete (walk leaders). Weather not brilliant on first couple of days, but switching around the day off from walking, and the order of the planned walks, worked well, and the big walks were tackled in the week’s better weather. The walking at times was strenuous, but Jill and Pete took their usual care of the group, and the result was often spectacular scenery/vistas – producing many group “WOWS “. The Hotel was of a high quality, and the food generally was also of a high quality – with portion sizes of challenging dimensions at times, but no diminution in quality. These holidays are not just about the walking, but the camaraderie of the group, the food, the wine, and exploring on your day off, all of which added up to an enjoyable week.

As ever the guided walks organised by Peter and Jill are always well researched and provide a good full day out in the countryside. Very good, with challenging walks, good hospitality at the hotel and a group (including Jill and Peter) that all got on well together. For a 2 star hotel it was very good due to the two ladies that run the hotel. Food and drink were excellent.
